Ski-doo delivers cash for Better Trails
The million dollar club support program introduced by BRP and Ski-doo dealers came through in a big way with cheques being delivered to 20 of the 25 clubs (84% participation) in District One. These extra funds will help subsidize many club trail operations that are provided each season by the heart beat of the snowmobiling community, the volunteers. With cheques, which totaled over $12,000 for the 20 clubs, three clubs received the $1500 level.
The message is clear that BRP and their authorized dealers recognize the work the clubs do and now the club volunteers are forwarding the message to all members and businesses that BRP and Ski-doo dealer network are supporting the clubs to make even better trails.
From all of the clubs in District One to BRP and their dealer network, a big thank you for your support.
Visit www.ski-doo.com for more information on their products.

Everyone Wins
The winning ticket of the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs District 1 "Winter's More Fun On A Snowmobile" lottery for two Yamaha Four Stroke snowmobiles and a two place enclosed Triton trailer (total package valued at $25,224) was drawn on December 21, 2009, 6:00 pm at 141 Main Street, Morrisburg, ON. The lucky winner was Mr. Paul Corkum of Wendover, Ontario, with ticket # 02667, purchased from the Eastern Ontario Snowmobile Club. He was short on words and would not believe the call informing him that he was that lucky winner. Paul is keeping his prizes and will be sledding this season on many of the groomed trails in Eastern Ontario. Paul is no stranger to snowmobiling, coming from a snowmobile family right from the very first ski doo sled in 1962 which was a 'torquey' little 10 hp. Later he got hooked on Yamaha sleds through the seventies and this season will be riding the many km of groomed trails on his new Yamaha Venture GT. Come summer Paul spends his weekends on his 1984 classic road bike complete with side car, so when he is not working as a computer programmer for a local firm in Ottawa he is out experiencing the outdoors and everything life has to offer.
Every one wins from this event. The twenty five participating snowmobile clubs from District 1 shared the $19,000 plus profit that will be put to use in trail maintenance and safety programs, thus providing a better and safer product for snowmobilers in communities all over Eastern Ontario. The District One Board of Directors would like to thank all who purchased tickets, all volunteers who sold tickets along with Yamaha Canada and Triton Trailers for their support. Once again congratulations Paul Corkum of Wendover! Lottery License #M594345.

Tom Irwin of Irwin Supply Cornwall and Paul Corkum the happy winner.
